Little Trotters came to be in 2021 in an effort to provide more opportunities for kids to participate in activities outside of the house.  Riding Lessons and pony ride events provide a unique way to get outside, discover they can control a situation, and have some fun!  Little Trotters focuses on building rider confidence, gaining a balanced seat, and the fundamentals of positive horsemanship while incorporating games and activities into the riding.

Courtney Long began riding as a child and spent many years in 4H and showing horses on the American Quarter Horse circuit.  Courtney showed as an all-around rider, participating in events like showmanship, western pleasure, western horsemanship, hunter under saddle, and trail.  As an adult rider Courtney focuses on western discipline and recreation trail riding.

As a former high school math teacher, current Girl Scout leader, a PhD student at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Education, Courtney is no stranger to teaching and finding fun ways to connect with student's.
